First and foremost, all credit to Disney and Elastagirl for the quote (I'm not making money off this so it's fine, right? Right???)
This time I wanted to share my process for writing my books. If you couldn't guess based off the title, there isn't one! Okay, just kidding, BUT I've had to learn to be more flexible because I've actually written each of my books differently. (I'm currently writing my seventh. I just signed a contract for one, and I'm querying another right now).
I've only written one book straight through (in order) from start to finish (which was also the fastest I've written one). One I wrote the end first and then built to it. Another I knew the beginning and end and "pantsed" the rest.
For the one I'm writing right now I wrote the beginning first and tried to keep going in order, but then I hit writers block. HARD. Eventually (after talking with one of my writer friends--shoutout to P.L. Riven!) I realized I needed to do this one differently, yet again. It's an enemies-to-lovers story, and once I switched to writing all the scenes with the LI in a row, skipping everything in between, the words finally started flowing!
Learn to be flexible with your expectations, and with yourself. What works for one book might not work for another! Be kind to yourself, and be willing to adapt.
Also, blogs are the best! I can put as many ellipses, parenthesis, and commas as I want. ;)
